# An announcement on the eighth halving of MDX production

The output of MDEX governance token MDX has been halved for the eighth time at 12:00 on February 25, 2023 (UTC). HECO halving block height:23477406, BSC halving block height: 25972494. After this halving, the dual chain block rewards will be reduced from the previous1.25MDX per block to 0.625MDX.
